“Your Superhero Cape Awaits!”: The schools of Bend-La Pine host fun job-hunting events in search of new heroes

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Bend-La Pine Schools is hiring dozens of support staff positions, including janitors and part-time nutritional workers and many more. And it makes Bend Senior High School’s hiring events a fun visit — pizza included.

The “Interactive Hiring Events” will take place on three consecutive Thursdays, August 4, 11 and 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Community members can tour their production kitchen, test drive a floor sweeper, enjoy a free pizza lunch, and have an on-site interview.

“At Bend-La Pine Schools, our staff are more than just employees — they’re superheroes to the students,” said Terry Cashman, the district’s executive director of operations. “Your superhero cape awaits! Join our team and find out what it feels like to be a student hero.”

Kelsey McGee attends the first hiring event Thursday to learn more about the process and the positions the school district is looking to fill. Her report will be featured on NewsChannel 21 at Four and Six on KFXO (Fox Central Oregon).
