North Carolina Team Pairs Northern Spunk, Southern Charm – RISMedia

For former DJ and concert promoter AnnMarie Janni, founder of the nine-member Element Realty Group in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill triangle, North Carolina (elementrealtygroup.net), music is both an integral part of her life and a contributing factor to her Success.

“Managing details for major Madison Square Garden entertainers from Madonna to the Rolling Stones to Red Hot Chili Peppers,” said Janni, “ensures you not only improve your organizational and human skills, but also accountability for.” carry the results.”

When her husband’s job change brought the native New Yorker to Raleigh 23 years ago, Janni tried several jobs. But it wasn’t until a friend suggested real estate that she knew she’d found her passion. First she found success at a small boutique firm and then, for most of her career as a team leader, under the auspices of Allen Tate Realty.

Today, as one of the top 25 real estate teams in the Triangle region with $275 million in career production, Element Realty Group is among the top five percent performers with Allen Tate Realtors and has received national top-performing team awards.

Barbara Pronin: What clicked about the real estate industry for you, AnnMarie?

AnnMarie Janni: The challenge and also the great privilege of helping buyers and sellers achieve their dreams and achieve their financial goals. know the market. Be a good negotiator. The skills we use every day that transform people’s lives.

blood pressure: You started building a team early in your sales career. Why?

AMJ: I quickly learned that the more successful an agent becomes, the more support they need. Being part of a team gives you bandwidth and support, both with paperwork and customer support – and it’s a huge benefit for the customer to know that someone always has their back. It was wonderful for me and once I started leading a team I found I loved the mentoring and the joy of seeing agents grow.

blood pressure: How is your team organized and how do you work?

AMJ: We recently hired our 7th agent, we all work with both buyers and sellers and we have two fabulous administrators – an account manager who is the point of contact at every stage of every transaction and an operations manager who looks after us all on track and keeps everything we do moving. We are fortunate to have our own space here at Apex in a beautiful historic home where we work within the atmosphere we have created. It’s very informal, we play the music we love and we often hang out with each other and even with clients on the large porch. At the same time we are very much in touch. We have monthly team meetings, plus monthly Allen Tate meetings, and we have a text thread running all the time. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s informative, sometimes we celebrate or maybe let off steam. It’s all very friendly, but at the same time it helps us stay on top of everything we do as a team.

blood pressure: That sounds like a fun way to work.

AMJ: It is. It’s mostly casual. We have team happy hours on the porch — which we sometimes call “date nights” — when we enjoy each other’s company but also catch up on anything that’s new or needs attention. Sometimes we do customer events out there. We just recently hosted one – a Music Under the Oak event with live music and food. It’s the kind of things that help us stay close to our customers and keep them connected to us. That’s what I call the “southern charm” of our way of working.

blood pressure: And the other part?

AMJ: This is what I call the “northern spunk” – the all-business part of the business – getting every listing market-ready, negotiating the most favorable terms for every client, keeping every transaction on time and on track. We are unquestionably customer and results driven and this is the backbone of our success.

blood pressure: What do you think is your differentiator? What do you think your customers would say?

AMJ: I think any of them would say that at every stage of their transaction and beyond they feel welcome and valued – that they know they can trust us and the established Allen Tate brand to put their best interests first and help them make the best decisions to do the best job possible for them every time.

blood pressure: Sounds like you’re a lucky transplant from the southern states.

AMJ: Absolutely. North Carolina is a great place to call home, close to beaches and mountains, a good place to raise kids – and I lead a team of some of the best REALTORS® in the business. I love what I do every day and derive my joy from the smiles I see on my clients and my agents as they move on, move out and step up.
