In a key move to make room for more women in the government workforce, the Karnataka government on Friday ordered all departments to ensure that 33% of staff outsourcing is reserved for women.

The government regularly hires drivers, data entry operators, housekeeping staff and Group “D” staff on an outsourced basis. Women are equally able to do all this work, said a circular from Secretary-General Fr. Ravi Kumar on Friday.
